Stage design

The stage is what the audience looks at all day or all evening. Stage design is about deciding how it should look and work: where the speaker stands, how the picture is seen, how the light falls and how people get on and off the stage. When it is well thought through, nobody notices. The audience just sees an event that flows.

Stage design for conferences

At a conference, the stage should help the speakers. We plan where the podium, panel chairs and confidence monitors go, so the speaker has eye contact with the audience and can see the next slide and the time. The lighting is set so faces are visible from every seat and on camera, and the LED wall or screens are placed so everyone in the room can see the presentation. We also think about the flow: how speakers get up on stage, where microphones are swapped and where the technician needs to be.

Stage design for galas

A gala changes mood several times in one evening: welcome, dinner, awards, entertainment and dancing. The stage has to handle all of it. We build LED surfaces into the stage design, lighting that follows the programme and space for artists and bands, so every part of the programme gets its own feel without rebuilding in between.

What it can look like

Conference for 200 people: a stage with podium and panel, an LED wall in the centre, a confidence monitor at the edge of the stage and front light that works for livestreaming.
Gala with awards: a stage with LED surfaces, moving lights, a clear route up for the winners and space for a band after dinner.

How we build

We use beMatrix when a modular structure fits, for example for set pieces with print or built-in LED. Other times we build on the venue's own stage with lighting and LED. The choice is driven by the venue and what you want to achieve, not by a particular system.
